Novo Verde is promoting the collection of plastic and metal packaging waste, paper/cardboard and glass through the installation of recycling bins in Reguengos de Monsaraz, Évora, as part of the Water World Forum For Life event, which will take place from June 3rd to 6th.
This selective collection initiative will be carried out in collaboration with the Municipality of Reguengos de Monsaraz and GESAMB during the weekend of May the 29th and 30th, in collaboration with local companies and entities of the HORECA channel, as well as during the days of the event, to facilitate the recycling of packaging and explain to citizens the importance of their behaviour in the value chain.
This project is part of the actions developed in the framework of the event “Water World Forum For Life”, which took place in this place at the beginning of June.
The global event, focused on water, was held for the first time in Portugal and was sponsored by Novo Verde.
The event, which includes social, cultural, sporting and global aspects, aims to draw attention to the urgency of immediate action and what each individual can do to contribute to a more sustainable planet.
Ricardo Neto, president of Novo Verde, is among the speakers on June 5th (World Environment Day), adding that “we want to make citizens, companies and institutions aware of the importance of correctly forwarding packaging waste, encouraging constant joint behaviour. The separate disposal of waste is the responsibility of all of us and is one of the ways to prevent this waste from entering rivers, seas and oceans and polluting ecosystems, our health and the environment. Novo Verde is therefore participating in this project with the main objective of appreciating water as one of the most important assets on our planet.”
