Hosted by artist Sofia Cotrim, the compliance systems for packaging, WEEE and batteries launch 8 DIY episodes under the slogan “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Have Fun”.
The impact of the Covid 19 pandemic in Portugal and in the world had consequences on the habits of all of us, leading to a longer stay at home, even after the lifting of the state of emergency and in a period of deflation.
Novo Verde, a company dedicated to the disposal of packaging waste, and ERP Portugal, a company dedicated to the disposal of electrical and electronic as well as battery and accumulator waste, have thought of all families looking for new forms of entertainment in this framework of restriction, as well as the task of promoting environmental awareness in all households.
The digital series Sofia Inspira consists of eight episodes that show how to give waste a second chance, such as through DIY projects (Do It Yourself) and by means of the guidance of the artist Sofia Cotrim from the program “Mundo de Sofia” (Sofia’s World).
This series, inspired by the values of reduction and reuse, but also based on fun between peers and families, will be released on Thursday, May 21, on the networks Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin and Youtube by Novo Verde and ERP Portugal. In these episodes, used packaging, electrical appliances and batteries at the end of their lifecycle are the main characters – achieving 100% sustainable results, whose common denominator is the idea of protecting the environment.
Ricardo Neto, President of Novo Verde, adds that “this initiative is the culmination of an idea that Novo Verde has always defended: a circular economy based on the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. On the one hand, there is an urgent need for packaging waste to be directed to the right recycling bins and recovery streams, on the other hand, we need to inspire all Portuguese people with the values of upcycling, not only contributing to the protection of the environment, but also to everyone’s conscience, well-being and ingenuity.”
Rosa Monforte, General Director of ERP Portugal, states, “In a year that is very special for all Portuguese people and that also celebrates the 15th anniversary of ERP in Portugal, we believe that environmental awareness must take new communication formats and differentiated paths to reach Portuguese people. We live in a time of greater electric and electronic consumption than ever before and the urgency to properly handle this waste is becoming more and more important and difficult.”
