Compensation Fees
Novo Verde, in accordance with Articles 4 (4) and 5 (3) of Decree-Law No 366-A / 97 of 20 December, as amended , is responsible for providing financial compensation to cover the cost increases with the selective collection and sorting of packaging waste and for the provision of financial compensation to cover the costs of sorting packaging waste at the mechanical treatment plants and mechanical and biological treatment, the organic recovery of packaging waste and the treatment of metal slag resulting from the incineration of municipal waste and other fractions considered as recycling.
Order No. 14202-C / 2016 of November 25 groups the Civic Amenities according to the characteristics and homogeneous dynamics, and defines a counterpart value for each group and material.
The financial contribution amounts for the selective collection of packaging waste and the respective sorting (VC (Standard Company)) to be applied during the validity period of the Novo Verde license are shown in Table I.

The financial fees applicable to the Civic Amenities of the Autonomous Region of Azores are those contained in Order No. 313/2019, of 13 March, which in turn amends Order No. 968/2018 of 15 June.
The financial fees applicable to the Civic Amenities of the Autonomous Region of Madeira are those contained in Order No. 97/2019, of 8 April, which in turn amends Order No. 379/2017 of 29 September.
